All Volunteers

Alumni, parents and friends of Southwestern demonstrate their support by volunteering for the University. Volunteer roles range in time and the level of commitment, and benefit programs and projects in Student Recruitment, The Center for Career and Professional Development, University Events, Fundraising and The Southwestern University Alumni Association.

 

Board of Trustees

Southwestern University’s Board of Trustees has the responsibility for the system of governance, academic life, student life, and the fiscal affairs of the University. They act as the policy making body of the University and, through their own actions, regulate to make its policies effective.

 

Board of Visitors

Members of the Board of Visitors are appointed by the President of the University and serve as advocates and advisers through their professional and personal networks. The Board of Visitors assists Southwestern in accomplishing long-term objectives as a top-ranked national liberal arts college.

 

Alumni Council

The Alumni Council consists of 14 alumni volunteers within the Southwestern University Alumni Association. These alumni leaders coordinate the activities of The Association by uniting the alumni base. Their annual initiatives include Homecoming, Class Committee Program, Alumni Assembly, Local Chapters, Alumni Connection Groups, and the Alumni Network Mentoring Program, among other projects.

 

Parent Leadership Council

The Parent Leadership Council strengthens and enhances the Southwestern Experience with their time, talents, and financial gifts. Through the efforts of its members, the PLC creates opportunities for meaningful engagement between parents and University leadership, helps maintain the excellence of University programs by supporting the Parent Fund (part of the Southwestern Fund), promotes parent-to-parent interaction within the University community, and serves as a network of informed ambassadors for the University.
